5 Acres, Blanca Costello County Colorado

Blanca terrain is high dessert prairie with surrounding mountains, mild summers averaging 65 to 42, cold winters averaging  from 34 to 1.5 degrees, and windy springs.  Sunny day average 290 days.  Average rainfall 8.8 inches with surrounding mountains  snowfall of 300 inches more or less.  Elevation 7746 feet above sea level.  Land is near the Smith Reservoir & Wildlife Area.  The Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve is about 20 miles from Blanca on the west side of the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range.  Attraction: Rio Grande Scenic Railroad   Mt Climbers:  Blanca

 Picture of Mt. Blanca is the view North of the 5 acres with light snow on mountains, land has some native grass and rabbit brush, yucca and some blooming cactus.   Pictures taken November 10, 2008.

Elk and Antelope forage in the valley,  when snow  becomes heavy in the mountains.

Antelope range from the San Luis Valley to the panhandle of Oklahoma
